Clarifying comments:
1. We require but do not always get credit applications signed.
2. We use external credit / risk resources, not credit apps.
3. We use a **** scoring model, if they qualify for credit, we
don't use the application process.
Much of our business is spot priced, and we don't have
the luxury of time to call for bank/trade references.
4. The credit app is not extensive in detail- bare info-we dig for
more as needed.
5. Very rarely do we use credit application.
6. A signed credit agreement is needed before the first move is
sent.
This is to ensure the customer agrees to the credit terms and
subsequent charges for late payment.
