8:00 am - 9:30 am It's Been A Long Journey -- Are We There Yet?
Chris Kuehl, Managing Partner, Armada Corporate Intelligence, USA
"The latest trends in GDP numbers as well as the latest PMI reports would seem to signal that the recession has eroded and that a recovery is under way. Why has this not been felt that dramatically in the transportation sector? What ever happened to that notion that this is the "canary in the coal mine" for the economy - the first to feel the winds of change? Turns out that the canary may collapse first but bringing it back to life is a whole other story. The rail sector has started to see some growth and so did air cargo, but there are many issues through which transportation will have to work before all is said and done. There is light at the end of the tunnel but, we still don't know for sure that it isn't an oncoming train."
